this is the 3rd JCR, however Matthew Smith wound up finishing it. I'm having the other two customized to match this one.

Alafia Hermano King Conga!
Espero que todo este bien contigo Papa!

Aw man! It's great to have choices, but when you begin to "prefer" which ones you play most it gets difficult!

La bendicion mi hermano!

Im going to guess and say he loves the Matthew Smith Ritmo's the best! 8)

Bro the Isla's look sooooo much better withthe LP trad hardware. Prob alot stronger also now.

Is that Elegua I see in the background?

Alafia Abures Mi!

Abure Abakua!
You are absolutely right, the Matthew Smith "Ritmos" are my favorites, followed by the Islas of course, and yes Abakua, those are my guerreros in the background.

The modified LP Traditional crowns on the Islas, IMHO, look far better and definitely are stronger.

Odagbo!

But ISLA page says quinto is 10.25'' and tumba 13''. Did you re-make LP hardware ?

Alafia Abure Roka!
The small drum isn't the quinto that you mentioned, it's the 11.75", and yes I wound up having the crowns "modified" to fit the size of the drums. It was a worthy investment in the already well made drums.

If you were to purchase a Matthew Smith drum, you would most certainly not regret it. The wait alone is excruciating though, but also well worth the arrival of it. I was like a new father awaiting the arrival of his children's birth when they arrived, I was out there trying to help the FedEx driver to unload them. I was worried he'd drop one of them, but not the case. They arrived in pristine condition and I played them that whole day.

Suave!

I have 9 Congas.

3 LP Patato Fiberglass Congas (Quinto, and 2 Congas)
3 LP Classic Wood Congas (Quinto, Conga, Tumba)
3 Pearl Travel Congas (Quinto, Conga, Tumba)

Currently, I'm using a hybrid setup of my Patato Quinto and the 3 Pearl Travel Congas as my 3 other Congas. That way, I get 4 congas...but not so much to carry to gigs. :D
