Hi,
I've seen that prices of the Pearl Congas Elite are bigger than the last year.
do you know why?
Maybe, Congas are better. Is the wood the same?
Hasta la proxima.

First, blame inflation. Second, my sense of why some Pearl Elites were in bargains out there was because there was an overage of "natural color" congas or old models that have sat in stores for awhile. Some of those bargains are out or running out.
Note that Pearl is coming out with some new instruments such as the Signature Series for some artists and variations and improvements in the colors, hardware, etc. Also, there has been a marketing effort by the company by the signing of some new endorsers such as Ray Barreto, Francisco Aguabella and the other few from the last few years such as Richie Flores, Marc Quinones, Bobby Allende, Sammy Garcia and from our own forum Johnny Conga that is part of that marketing. All this results in new demand for Pearl instruments that probably has something to do with it. Still, in comparison with the other brands, in my opinion, they remain the best option in quality and price. (Notice LP has reduced some of their prices to be able to compete. Pearl has something to do with it together with the other companies).
Recommend go to Pearl's site, visit their drummers forum and write directly to them...they will give you an official answer...
Saludos!
