Hi. On my Peal Elite Tumba I have Fiberskyn and on the conga I left the Pearl original head. To me Fiberskyn rules and sounds always good in most situations. Can't go wrong with Fiberskyn. According to Remo they are the world's most widely recorded synthetic world percussion heads. What I try to do with my congas and bongos is that I like to have the fyberskyn heads too in addition to the natural skin heads. :)

They will sound great! One advantage is that you will not need the "break in" that is needed for natural heads. Discussed all over here, Remo NuSkyns are thinner heads and provide a quiet and opaque sound compared with the Fiberskyns. Fyberskins, thicker heads, have more overtones and preferred by most.

Your decision there....NuSkyn has become popular because is the "new kid" in town plus they are "tucked in" like natural heads and are easier to actually set with most brands of instruments...Wait for new "tucked", just like natural heads, for Remo Fyberskyns....this is response by Remo on problems with the Fyberskins...

Saludos!

Has anyone tried the new "tucked" Fiberskins yet? Are they even out yet? I've seen pictures, but not the real thing.

Based on my experience, first they show it at the NAMM (that is the convention of musical instruments dealers that just happened in Anaheim) and then "slowly" they start distributing...I remembered that when NuSkyns came out it took about 8 months to a year before it was everywhere... At the beginning, some dealers didn't even know they existed. (and I did check in some of the New York City stores about 6 months after the launch of NuSkyns and they did not have it at the time...)

I saw them and I am looking forward to get them....

Saludos!

Yeh, Ive heard they out of business, however limited stock still remains floating around the world....

Unless they've been bought out by another company...
