I am considering buying one of these to to go with the Pearl Conga that i am about to buy. This Reso - Board is also made by Pearl.

So do any of you guys use one of these to stand your drum / drums on when playing sitting down. ??
If not, what do you use.?? Or do you just make do with the floor.

Hello!
I don´t know those resonator boards you are writing about and I do not use any, either, but I could imagine that you can build a cheaper and also more stable base your congas yourself! I once built a board construction to get all my congas on the same level ´cause of them was not as tall as the other, but then I turnes to those low basket stands - they are pretty good and they won´t tumble!! Besides, the sound you get is fuller if the drums are lifted a bit from the floor, especially when U have thick carpets (up to your ankles... ;-)

hi!! guys,
i'm going to built my own resonator boards. it is cheaper and easy to make. you can make them square or round. square are easier to make. i'm going to go with the round boards. is best to use light wood for traveling purpose. what i'm going to do is draw a circle of the size of the opening of the congas in the middle of the boards, then make a groove that will fit neatly the opening of the congas on the board. this will make it more stable and you can tilt the conga with ease, of course the boards must be stable to the floor or rug like glue,sort of.. it depends on what kind of floor you are going to set your congas, for instance here in p.r. i will use some kind of rubber to the boards, since here is usually tile floor. my best to you all and áche. your friend, franc

Hi Franc....como anda?....Mira I use "serving trays" the kind in restaurants and they are durable and they work out great for the sound of the drum. Try it,you'll like it!.....paz...."JC" Johnny Conga.... :;):

Serving trays that they put drinks on , not the big round ones they carry food on, but the smaller ones....I have them in 3 sizes actually, confiscated from different bars....hee hee hee...."JC" Johnny Conga......

Hola Todos,

JC means the exact same trays the waiter/waitresses use... I just picked some up at a restaurant supply store... If you're lucky at any restaurant or bar - ask them if they have any only ones laying around that they don't use anymore... You might score on some for free!

They work great, especially for those gig where you are playing on carpet... I find them usefule for playing outside, too... It protects your drum from getting scratched up from the cement...
