Timbas Ismael is another place....is in Bayamon. (Check the yellow pages or info). Don't know if they are still making them but they used to.

Hi guys,

Hope all is well! Yes, I have heard a lot about Papo del Valle, but I'm not familiar with his tumbadoras. Give him a call because his name is one the first mentioned when inquiring about the best panderos de Plena and barriles de Bomba on the island. Timbas Ismael unfortunately is not longer making drums. You might also want to check with this other drum artisans:

Charlie Vega (Isabela) 830-3669
Rafael Trinidad (Manatí) 854-2621
Elo Molina (Canóvanas) 487-6527
Juan Fuentes (Loíza) 886-4276

Hope this helps!

Jorge Ginorio
