An Idea from another thread.
Anyone got any ideas they can share on making life cheaper for us poor gigging percussionists, by suggesting regular every day items that can be adapted to improve our rigs or to make new sounds?
I am thinking, pipe clips or dolly trollies for raising drums, waiters trays for a tumbadora sound board, hammer handles for hitting cencerros, motor cycle helmet bags or frozen food bags for wrapping/protecting/carrying stuff etc etc.

Anyone got anything to share?

Go to bar, ask for a can which held whiskey bottle and a handful of coffee beans. Add ice for your own enjoyment.

Use microphone and amplify different subtle sounds, that could not be heard otherwise. Look around. :)
