about what conga bags are good....Really protect the congas during transport and hold up well?

you might try looking at this site to make up your mind!
I actually transport my "Fats" in Beato Bags, and you have to understand that I had to really be convinced that they wouldn't be scratched. The bags are pretty well padded, and quite reasonable, but you have to decide for yourself my brother!

I use the Gator Bags (can be seen on the same link that onile gave)

I am very happy with them. Great features (wheels, backpack like straps...) but cheaper than the similar LP ones.

I read on one of the websites; that the Gator bags were a lot more accomodating for the 28" congas, did you find this to be true? All-in-all, having bags with a thick amount of padding is what one should consider, that and the portability factor. Wheels, shoulder strap, handles, very important.

Abure Trickyricky, you should also shop around, that site that I posted isn't the cheapest there is. Just read about the bag and if it interests you, type the name of the bag in the search engine and begin your search for an acceptable price range!

Its a 'no brainer' Protection Racket bags are the puppies privates. I have been hauling them for over three years now and they are friggin' bomb proof. They are made by ex surfers in Cornwall and do da job!!

This was on one of the links above, but I looked closer at the individual link, since it has wheels, and rolls from the heaviest part of the conga on the bottom,, the head.
So, if it provides good foundation to protect the head, then this looks to be a stable system, and easy to transport,, and it's only $70 as opposed to most of the rollables at $100+

Gator bags

I have only had 28" congas in my gator bags. But since they are "one size fits all", I think there is room for a 30" drum as well. They have a little "belt" that can be tightened to make sure you get a good fit.

If your concerned about the head of your drum being protected (in any type of bag) here is something that I do. Pick up a few (on for each drum) chair pads that people use in their kitchen/dinning room. Just add these to your bag and add a little extra padding. You can also use it when sitting on a cajon or hard bar chair at a gig.

This is what I am talking about.

When I'm on the road use "Fiber/Rubber" rolling cases, for my congas. they are flexible , durable, and protect your congas,pretty good. I have to admit the new LP conga cases with wheels and handles are rally nice bags to lug your drums in also....Im waiting on Pearl to catch up in this area....."JC" Johnny Conga....

You know, LP case with wheels and handles are nice, but how expensive are they? I guess I looked at trying to get some for my Palladiums, but they were too costly!

Hopefully when Pearl does come out with some, they will keep the cost factor in mind.

Hola Onile,

Your Gio Palladiums won't fit in LP's Road Ready cases. LP's Road Ready cases are designed to fit 28" to 30" tall drums. LP offers a special conga bag with wheels designed to fit Palladiums drums, model number LP544-PS.

You know, I figured that out too late, I wound up special ordering some bags for them. They’re pretty cool bags, but the bulkiness of the drums make it difficult to even try and carry them over your shoulder.

The most affordable conga bags are still available free of charge for fleet footed congueros everywhere! Growing up in Brooklyn, we would until the late afternoon when our Dominican mailman went into the corner bar for a few after work beers............Then we would help ourselves to ALL those wonderful, heavy duty canvas mail bags sitting idle in the back of his mail truck......They made the BEST conga bags!!! :cool:
