I saw those congas on craigslist out of NYC,I was going to have my daughter, who lives in Queens, buy them for me.Then I realized after looking at the hardware and the handle that comes out of the crown that they are Meinls.Still, for $300 you did good. Dario :D

Ok guys, I don't think these are MEINL congas. The guy who picked them up for me looked and they are not stave drums, these are from a log! Which is what it looks like on the picture, but you never know, could be finish. I am not sure if it's good thing or not, but I am excited.

Actualy hardware does look like Meinl floatune stuff, if they are realy hand made maybe maker used that harware.

I don't know when I'll get them since I am in upstate Ny but I will report when I do.

Those Timbas for $600 are a steal!!! I think he is selling 3 of them! Oh wait that's got be $600 a piece...

Ok, these ARE stave drums, I am bummed out. :(
I realy didn't want to buy Meinl drums. His ad did say they were "handmade in the states". I should know better... idiot... well I haven't seen them or played them yet ... they might be great improvement from my LP Aspire drums. I do have Issacs mule skins on them though, so they sound pretty good to me, and even my teacher was asking me where I got the skins.

If they are Meinl they must be old, since I can't find pictures of that shape anywhere. Maybe they are at least solid wood and not plywoood, like current production. I actualy prefer this shape to current Meinl drums, just lookes better to me.

OLSONGO you did say you have a catalog with these, are they this shape?

sorry... I just had to vent... :) :p
