Conguero's,
Checking in with you all to see if there is a "Throne" of choice amongst the conguero's ... I tried out a Pork Pie that was pretty sweet but $$.
Gracias por todo,

Hola Onile!
You're right! Did you get your 3rd Gon Bops CA Series yet? Is your set candy apple red or a different color? looks nice in the pics!
What part of the States are you in and are you playin' anytime in the Bay Area?
Ciao

Alafia Abure CongaKing!
I'm actually just South East of you, Phx. AZ! Dio'mio! its' gettin' hot out here!
As for the third Supertumba, nope not here yet. I was told by "Nick" that the projected date was June 16th. He did say that he was going to follow it and see what he could do to get it to me sooner, I hope!
Yeah! It's Candy Apple Red. I was waivering between that and the color you selected, so please post some pics of them when you get them. I know that they're going to look slammin' brothelito!
As for giggin' in the Bay Area, yeah! I wish! I'm more of a centrally located percussionist, that is until after Jan. 07' (next year). I will retire from my day gig (Supervisor of two Teen Parent Programs for the City of Phoenix), then it's music, music, music! I've been doing the resort circuit out here, which pays quite well ($175 - $250 per gig), not bad for a couple hours of work.
It's crazy the way this works out here, but there is a handful of agents that have their grubby little paws on the entertainment circuit for the Five-star Resorts out here, and as far as percussionists go, they have a list of probably 5 guys, of which I'm second on the list. The main reason for that is, this cat, who happens to be a good friend of mine, Eddie Katz, is in the first running because of his availability. It's all he does, so naturally his name is who is first. As for skill level, well you have to be able to play whatever is thrown at you, afterall, there is no rehearsal. I can get a call in the morning for a gig later that afternoon and I have to be able to make it, or they go to the next person on the list.
I've actually had a great time with this arrangement. Life has been good!
Many blessings!
Onile!

Alafia Abures Bongoron and Mangorockfish!
That is an excellent suggestion! Econimically sound, and you can have it in whatever material you choose! Now if I had two brain cells to rub together, I might have thought about that before I went and paid the $ for my porkpie :p
Definitely something to take into consideration the next time!
Many blessings!

My cajon is my throne and an instrument which sounds much better than a stool, and you can store stuff in it.
You can make one for a few bucks, buying one is probably more expensive than a throne, but if you are thinking of getting one anyway your 'throne' will cost you zip IYKWIM

I've gone through a few cheap seats, and because
they were light they'd often fall over when I got up and
switched to other drums. I threw one out two days ago.
I now switched to a heavy duty very firm DW drummers
stool. ~ A birthday gift from my parents.
I usually do 3 to 4 hr. gigs, so the support is important.
I had a roc'm soc'm mototrcycle style seat before, but
I'd get too hot and uncomfortable with the part sticking
out. (Hey I need some air down there!!) I got rid of it.
It's important to be comfortable and take care
of your posture for the long run.
