Hey fellow drummies!!
What does everybody use as lug lube? Do you buy actual lug lube from one of the big distributors? The stuff I got with my drums from Pearl looks like petroleum jelly and comes in an impossible to use plastic tube.

Hi there
there are two main schools here. You can use lub made for small parts like for watches. They usually come in a small plastic bottle with a long and thin "nose" that lets you lub without having to remove the lugs.
Or some baby powder.

Hi! You can use almost every oil, but I would suggest something like WD-40 or ordinary engine oil.
Hey akdom, whats the benefit of baby powder, never heard of it?

Baby powder is not liquid qnd doesn't stqin. It is almost pure fat and it is very thing. It gets on the thread of the lugs and sticks to it. And as ordinary oils, it doesn't catch dust as much and stay clean.

Has anybody tried graphite? It is a bit messy, I suppose, but can't be any harder to apply than baby powder. I never have used it myself, but it seems like it would do the trick. I could be dead wrong, though.

I use a drop of heavy motor oil or any similar lubricant. But my carelessness in this matter has just about wiped out my white suit
collection...

ZOWIE....Baby powder!?! Does that really work? I know that JC suggests using it on the heads in really humid climates, but on the lugs? I didn't know it was made up of fats. I love this board....so much information!
