Has anyone in LAX area been to West Coast Drum shop??

If so , do they have Gon Bops California or Alex Acuna models on the floor?

Please let me know.

West Coat drums isn't near LAX, it's in Costa Mesa near John Wayne airport.

The last time I was there, 3 weeks ago, I didn't see either of those models on the floor. I saw some Meinls' and some LP Palladiums.

As far as playing them to see what the sound is, I don't think some of these drums are tuned up well enough when sitting on the floor.

You might have to call them to see if those particular models are in stock, and if you can try them out. But that only goes over well if you are ready to walk out the door with something. Trying stuff out before buying is tricky! But West Coast is usually pretty good about it.

thanks WBB, thats all they have on the floor? hmm GC has more then WCD?

As far as the LAX thing, as far as I'm concerned -Costa Mesa, Inglewood, Hollywood, whatever is LAX to me LOL

oK I should have said LA?

If I am going to buy a set I will test the drum before hand. If I don't like them I won't buy them simple as that. If they won't let me tune them up, they just lost a customer.
The customer rules, they need to understand the purchaser's mind set. I will let them know from the beginning I'm coming in from a 2.5 hour drive, and not there just to play on some new drums.
