Those Echo Tones were mine. I sold them to Greg a couple of years ago. I love Echo Tones, they have a sound of their own. Patato, Candido, Ray B., Frankie Malabe and Jerry Gonzalez loved them. Echo Tones were build to last, those there are over 40 years old. I keep my set of conga and tumba,111/4 and 12. I play them when we do Jewish parties, Jewish people in their 60's and 70's that were NYC Palladium dancers and are now retired and living in Ft. Lauderdale, they saw Echo Tones in the Palladium (late 50's, early 60's).
The red one in the picture I sold to Greg, but I think he is keeping it. The one on Ebay on the left I also sold to him. I'm keeping my set of black and orange.
Saludos, Dario

Candido loves Echo Tones, but he is endorsed by LP and has to play LP products. See Candi with his Echos.

Niiice!! I never laid hands on some Echoes. How do you tune them?
They have a interesting tunning appearance.
Any reference to a "good" Candido album showcasing the echoes?

Try to get Candido's Comparsa on ABC Paramount from 1959. He is picture with Echo Tones conga and Echo Tone bongos, speaking of rare Echo Tone bongos, I wish I had a pair. Candi still has his, I saw them last year in his Manhattan apartment. Frank Mesa, the owner of Echo Tone, also made a fiberglass guiro, I don't have that either. Echo Tones sound great no ring, fat strong sound. Ask JC, he loves Echos. Saludos, Dario

Ah , I see now. You insert a rod inside the center torque assembly in the middle between the crown connection and the side plate. What a great inclusion of hardware. this means you have 2 connections for stability.
wonder why no other has used this method?

Tito is also holding an Echo Tone, no doubt about it!
