Hey the green looks nice!!

BNB previously had posted the "sunrise" finish a while ago.

I think the difference is less bands, and the sideplates are cut out for a different design. I would initially think that the cutouts would lessen the assembly strength. But I'm sure Michel has gone through the testing phase.

You guys are pushing to be the 2nd on the board to have a set :p

Green looks cool! That is a unique look for Moperc with the two bands.

Tonio, as far as the cut outs on the lug plates, intuitively it seems like it would'nt be as strong, but it really depends on how the forces are traveling through it, think of the triangles in a truss, or a bicycle frame. They achieve a high strength efficiency and use less material, often the material in the interior is not required, and just makes the object heavier.

...but I'm just guessing really, how strong do the lug plates really need to be?

The cutouts are definately lighter and I think give that model a very elegant look. I really like how Michel offers very traditional and also very modern models.

That green stain does look great. I just visited Michel's site. Looks like he finally got it updated to show the green Conguero Congas and bongos. No description yet though.
Sideplate strength? dunno bro. I'll leave that up to Michel. Good analogy about the bicycle thing.

Man, now I;m jonesing for a green Salsa Club conga!!

that green looks good! seems like the staineles steel hardware has a better contrast with the green than with the regular traditional colors.

People,yes indeed,that green color is really atractive. I may do a paint job on 1 of my Bongos on that color. If anybody is interested I am selling my 1987 Lp Valje Bongó, you can see a picture in the Bongo forum under the topic the Toys. Hasta la vista

BnB, No I just posted the pictures, I am not a Conga Player. I do know the basic baqueteo and tumbao rhytms but Congas are not my thing. Just received A Colombian Percussion Bongó which I bought from Omelenkó. A piece of beauty,well made to the max,the only thing I found not of my liking is the thickness of the Macho head,is too thick. Right now I have a skin soaking in water to be mount in about an hour.

what kind of skin do you mount on the CP then?
By the way, I am currently waiting for a JCR mule macho skin from Isaac for my Supercussion Bongó (which is close to LP generation I, but with lighter wood) to have a really decent second set.

Mike,como estás ? Do not know the type of skin ,look like cow. The seller has about 20 or more premounted Macho heads $30ea they are imported from Venezuela, I prefered to mount my own which only cost $15. Is already drying,only took me about 15 minutes to mount with the help of my son. Last year I installed Mules skins on The Old El Piernas and the Moperc,they still have them,mule will last along time if taking care.

I 'll be posting some pictures of the 2007 El Piernas which is painted now on Candy Apple Blue . I did never like the factory paint. Remember to take extra care while cutting the extra skin during the mounting.

Sure I will, I never do the same mistake twice :;):
BTW mounting an LP handpicked Quinto head on the hembra was quite a hassle, but it was worth it - sounds great without nasty ringing.
