with it in natural color.

I am also a satisfied customer of Land Hand Percussion skins.
I got 4 very high quality skins. Two conga skins and a set of bongo skins.

The skins have a nice smooth texture. What I like about these skins is they are very "fresh".
They still have some oil in the skins, they are not all dried out. The conga skins have a
great warm tone. I've put one on my Gon Bops, I will be putting another on a Valje.

I've also have the skins on my bongo. Again a very nice warm tone, my old skins were a
little to bright for me.

Land Hand ships fast and will ship the thickness you want. They emailed pictures of the skins
before I paid. I got exactly what I was looking for.

Very nice skin especially on that Gon Bops,
but also the bongo mule skins look great, not too thin.
Incidentally, I have just mounted a thick German cow skin
from the Black Forest on my Gon Bops tumba today,
really smooth and thick. Here is pic of the freshly
mounted skin. After drying I will oil it.
The skin is NOT bleached even if it looks a bit like it.
The seller is Fritz Würth and he is really a maker of instruments, but also sells high-quality
skins - from every animal you can imagine...

I guess emailing him will take some time, he is around quite a lot,
so phoning would be better. Talking to him on the phone is a unique experience, as he
walks through his collection and describes and measures his special skins in impressionistic mode.
You will not be disappointed!
Can´t tell if he speaks English though - but it is worth a try!

Just thought I would add my highest approval rating of L and H percussion skins. Mike was very professional and friendly supplied me with excellent skins for congas and bongos. Shipping was light speed fast ordered friday recieved monday something his competors have no concept of. I have purchased skins from many of the other guys listed in this forum but from now on Mike at L and H will be my supplier. I love the natural rich-dark color they have. The tones are as warm as the color!

The info on Rhythm Traders skins is not correct. I mailed them, they only sell flat, not mounted. I have mailed one other dealer, hoping to get a positive answer. I am convinced that an expert with the right equipment can do a better job than I can, so if anyone knows a dealer that sells mounted cow/steer, I would appreciate that very much.

$138 each - not cheap. If you hava an expert near you, you could buy the Rhythm Trader flats and pay him to mount them for you.

Thanks for good answer. Yes I have Gon Bops, vintage, but the sizes does not fit my Gon Bops. But I found a 10" skin that will fit another vintage drum that definitely needs a new skin. Good idea to find an expert for the job. There might be one in town. I can also try Isla percussion.

Probably the only way your going to get a new skin on a vintage Gon Bops is to
have it mounted. I doubt any of the premounts will fit.
It really is not very hard, I've done it several times, you should give it a try.
