Hello Forum members. I have decided to part with a nice set of Mahogany Conga / Tumba Gon Bops. I painted these drums
myself. When I first got these they had been scraped pretty good on the top portion from banging into each other while playing. ( I could never understand how some people can do that and not care that they are damaging their drums ). Anyway, I did not want to refinish these with stain for that reason. I filled in the scrapes with wood putty and painted them. They turned out Beautiful as you can see. If anyone is interested in these contact me ok?
Thanks.

They go on ebay probably next week. Thanks for looking, just wanted to give forum members first choice but looks like no interest here.

Hello!
1) How much?
2) Why do all of the photos cut off one of the drums in each photo?
Do you have a photo complete with both drums?

Congamyk....BNBs sees the entire picture so I am not sure why you can't . Anyway, I am posting these on ebay tonite. I decided that I am just going to do it , along with about 3 other awesome drums. I need to part with drums so I can focus on the few I will have left. This is what happens ultimately to someone who becomes more of a collector than a player, and I am tired of It. I want to become a player not a collector.
Thanks for the interest.

I know just what you are experiencing, Breeze.
Lately I've been looking at my collection a little bit differently and wondering what if....
The sad thing is that we pay pretty high bucks for good quality instruments and if and when it's time to sell them they are worth next to nothing, regardless of how well kept they are or how good they sound. That's how it is here anyway, it could be different in bigger cities where there is more happening in terms of AfroCuban or African music scene and musicians.
I hope you get the price you want for these really nice congas!

I use Firefox - it only shows 75% of the photos for some reason.
I copied the photo and pasted it in another window and I see both congas.
So breeze what's the price?

I was asking 650, but a very close friend that purchased some fiberglass meinl "Live Sound Series" congas from me a while back emailed me and wants to see them Sunday. I told him 500 dollars since he was such a good friend and I know these drums will make him really happy. Good luck trying to find another set like these with the wide bands. I know I would normally regret it but not this time. I will actually be glad that I don't have them anymore and 2 less drums taking up my precious playing area.
I put up three drums in ebay just this evening. A patato Quinto in like new condition with a nice replacement head,
A gon bops oak 10 3/4" conga with a nice new rawhide head, and a one piece shell conga that is a one of a kind. Three really nice drums that I am also going to part with.
I also have a King Conga 10 1/2" conga that I did not have a picture of but will take some soon. This conga really pops and since I could not find a tumba to match up with it it will go too. Again, all my drums are good top of the line unique drums so take a look if you want in ebay and see. If anyone is interested in the King Conga let me know. Congamyk....Sorry about the drums possibly going to my friend. The heads measure 10 3/4 and 11 1/2 inches. Let me know if you are interested in any of the drums in ebay and I will give you a deal since you have shown an interest.
p.s....Thanks for the good works Chupa Cabra. By the way I am wearing a Chupacabra shirt as I type this message.
