Saw an ad for this conga, and was wondering if anyone knows who made this one.... can someone positively ID it?

Definitely an old Matador drum with the original traditional style rims. From the pics looks like either Conga (11 3/4" ) or Tumba (12 1/2")

Those old Matadors really sounded great, they don't make them like those anymore.

Picked up a bashed up old Quinto like that one, stripped it, stained it and mounted the ol' mule skin.

Here is a picture with the Quinto completed and before I tackled the Conga on the right.

Go for it if the price is right Wop, you'll have it restored in just one day.

Thank you so much for the ID.... the price on the drum was certainly right at $40 OBO, but it would be another $100 in gas and half a day's round-trip drive. I'm going to have to pass on this one. I was hoping it would be something worth dropping everything and jumping in the car for. I just hadn't recognized it (though the shape was screaming LP)--- those lug plates and trad rim threw me off. Thanks again for the help!

The lug plates are what give it away as a Matador. The 'bull horns' design is Matador trademark.
