Olsongo, I'm looking for a 12 3/4 Inside diameter 5 lug traditional rim for a Rogers conga that I think will sound good with a good head. It looks like Maple but its from overseas. Definately not rubberwood. I also need a 7 3/4 I.D. rim for a bongo. Hope you can help. You can email me at bbrossman1@juno.com Thanks, Buckoh

Don't tell me a lot of you are happy with those cocktail drum, pussy hands, disrespect to the drum, comfort curve crowns ? If you are not ...contact me and I will even help get rid of those awful looking things.

I lolled. I don't agree, but I lolled.

Olsongo que bola',

Do you have by any chance an 11 and 12 1/4 Gon Bops crowns? I have the teardrop crowns, but they need rechroming. Remember, Gon Bops only made 5 lugs not 6. I'm a confort curve hater just like you, Vergara must be turning in his grave. Let me know.

I thought i would comment on this post. Yesterday i met with Oslongo and after a few phone calls met up with him as i was in the area. I bought 3 of his crowns and came home today and put them on. Oslongo is a good man and a great player as well we talked for quite some time and I was happy to meet up with another player and share our thoughts regarding the instrument. Here are some pics of my drums with crowns purchased from Oslongo.

The crowns have given my congas a whole new look and i do believe they sound better with traditional hardware as opposed to the comfort curve crowns to me there is less ringing in the drum.

Olsongo---How much do you sell your hardware for? Do you just have rims or do you have lugs and side plates as well?
Vinnie, your drums look nice with the new rims.
Peace,

Thanks for the props Vinnie, I am glad to have met you personally and to have been able to meet your needs for the crowns. You are a man of good taste. This exchange of ideas about the drum between to fellow Floridians , has given me an idea... There area good amount of rumberos from Florida here on conga place, I think we should make the effort so that we all can meet ; be it in Miami or Orlando... maybe we can get Mickey Mouse on a conga lol .. or a killer rumba on SOBE. Beautiful places to do it in Florida, we don't lack.
