DEL CIELO QUINTO, 4 SALE, TRADE

One of a kind Del Cielo quinto for sale or trade. I got this beauty from Buck in our forum. I just recently got some mule skins from Colombia (El Piernas) and put a new skin on it, this baby sings now. It's a 6 lugs, stainless steel 10 1/4" one of a kind quinto. If you're into rumba or world music, I doubt you'll find a better sounding quinto. It has the floating hardware, which means the shell is intact with no holes drilled and is a SOLID piece, not staves.
If you are a rumbero, this is the one. Unfortunately I don't play much rumba these days. I need to sell it, or would consider an old LP fiberglass 12 1/2" tumba with traditional crown as a trade. I know Del Cielos are no longer available due to the high cost of making them. One of a kind beautiful quinto in sound and appearence. If interested email me privately.

OYE MI QUINTO BONKO', QUE LINDO SUENA !

Omelenko,

Wow, what a great drum you put up for sale! If only I had a 12.5 LP Fiberglass.... :?

Someone in this forum will be a lucky owner. That quinto looks awesome.

Can I come by and play it before you sell it?! :D

6x8

ps- how do you get mule from El Piernas?

6x8 come by for sure. I'm in South Miami just like you, call me and come by. This Colombian young guy that lives in Miami went to Cali and brought back some mule from El Piernas. What a difference in sound. Llamame y nos tomamos unas "frias" con las timbas.

Would it be possible to post some close up pictures of all the hardware on this quinto? I'm really interested to see how it's put together and how the components are shaped. I like the design and particularly the solid, undrilled shell!

Here are closeups of the tunning mechanism, (6 lugs) very even precise tunning and a closeup of the crown. All the components are stainless steel. Very high end. highly polished, strong hardware. This is a one of a kind quinto.

That's a beautiful drum! If I was in the market for any new instruments right now I would buy it at almost any price. Just the shipping cost from Miami to the West coast of Canada would be insane.
I hope this instrument finds a good home!
The vertical straps kind of remind me of suspenders! :|

I don't play that often, that's Miami for you. When I do, I basically play marcha, mazacote, or in english, straight time tumbao. This drum is meant to be heard, ideally great for a world music, latin jazz or rumba setting, where riffing and soling takes place. Is an ideal drum for a Giovanni, Paoli or a Jesus from Los Muñequitos, where the melody calls for riffing and soloing. Playing salsa (Bilongo, No Le Pegue A La Negra and El Cuarto De Tula)doesn't do this drum justice.
