Bongoes hardware question

Hi guys !!!

I have a little stock of Bongoes hardware, it come from an old french manufacturer named "France Percussions" wich stop long time ago.

Some rust but it's good. Just one thing, as you can see on the photos, the " V " are straight, without angle.

I have already seen old bongoes with this kind of " V " but I have never mount skins on it.

is it difficult for mount skins and bad for the tension ??

If some of you have this kind of harware, or any experience in skin replacement with this kind of rims, your advice are welcome !

Hi Congalou ,

Yeah I know them. Also I remember this small company had very good quality Wood Shells for Congas.

This kind of rims needs a 3mm rims(not more) and to be the same EXACTLY diameter of the other rims.Just give a small space in order to grap exactly the rim + the skin.Don't make it tight as it will deform the interior rim.

By the way..Very Good Stuff!!! 8)

What sizes are them?

Hello,
I don't plan to made bongoes soon and I need some money to build fiberglass congas... if you are interested in a set, I sell one for 50 euro with hooks and long nut, you just have to made inside 3 mm rims and to pick off some rust !!!

PM me if you are interested,

Congalou.
