mic techniques

When I mic my drums(i use three), I use the "area mic" technique, placing two mics over all three drums. it works pretty well. I was curious as to what techniques you guys may have used, and whether or not you prefer a particular brand of microphone.

This was discussed before, but it still is a very interesting topic.
I use this:

3 of them clipped to the rims.
It works like a charm.
