New York has Junior Tirado and Jay Bereck of Skin on Skin. Of course Cuba has it's
great makers as well like Vergara, Requena and Sonoc. There's also Matt Smith, wherever
he is, I guess he was originally from New York too. Puerto Rico, and Columbia have their great
drum makers too.
But this thread is dedicated to California. We have been lucky to have several top drum makers here in this state;
Sol, Valje, Gon Bops, King Congas, Resolution Drums the new DW Gon Bops, Fat Congas, Timbas well it's a long list isn't it? I'm a Californian
and I'm very lucky and proud to have several Californian drums.
So post them if you got them, let's see your Hecho en Califas (Made in California) drums.

Those tear drop rims are my favorite Gon Bops style. Very under rated.

Del Cielo Congas. No longer in production and I've never actually seen one in person, but certainly beautifully-made drums.

I posted a picture of my King Conga super tumba on another thread recently, so sorry for the repost but it deserves to be in this thread. King Congas were made in Fremont, California, near San Francisco, from the late 1960s to early-mid 1970s. Some of the best fiberglass drums ever made.
