OLD GON BOPS CONGA SET ONCE MONGO'S

In 1984, I remember as my daughter had just been born, Mongo called me from L.A. and said he was shipping a set of congas that his ex wife told him "you take them now or I'll throw them away". At the time I had a 2 car garage, Mongo told me to sell them for him and next time I saw him to give him the money.
I didn't keep them at the time cause I had just bought me 3 wood LP with the gold hardware, which I thought they were the bomb and I passed on these. My friend Julio bought them from Mongo back then. Today, 25 years later Julio just retired, he never ever played them and needs to sell them as he is downsizing.
At the moment I'm getting divorced and selling some of my sets, I got plenty of stuff that I got from Mongo (his Vergara bongos, 100's of his personal photgraphs......) Julio need $675 and told me to try to sell them for him. The macho is 10 3/4" and the hembra is 11 1/2", I know congas and these are "old Gon Bops", they have a date of 2-66 on the inside and also read "A. Peraza". Back in those days Armando used to play with Mongo. Those are the details, here are the photos. Any interest call me.

Here are more photos. Old Gon Bops Mongo set dated 1966 on the inside. Selling for $675. Macho 10 3/4", hembra 11 1/2". Skins are excellent for 25 years, great sounding. If interested (305) 807-7421. Selling them for my friend who never, ever played them, they were decoration.
