Wow, some truly amazing gear there. Those Papines drums.... OMG.. I am capable of some terrible, terrible things in order to get my paws on those!

I have a few perfectly innocent questions though...

1. Whats the address of this place?
2. What time do they close?
3. How many night security team/guards?
4. Are there bars on the doors/windows?
5. Any details you could supply re security system/alarm/trip beams/motion detectors would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Uno mas!!!
I'm happy to announce that I have just renewed the loan contract with the MIM for one more year :D . Wow, they have had my drum now longer than me :?
This is the largest Museum of it's kind in the country and possibly the world.
I encourage anyone who is in the Phoenix area to visit this Museum, this place is amazing and you will no doubt have an unforgettable experience.
While you are there head on over to the Latin Jazz which is where you will see my mu classic Requena on exhibition.
Cheers.

You will sell me this drum..... Look into the circles.... You will sell me this drum....

Great stuff brother, If it were mine Im not sure I could bare to part with it for so long all over again.. But it really is an awesome circumstance.

You may prefer to answer privately in PM but are you being compensated financially at all for them holding onto the drum as part of the display?

LOL! Man you had me going with that image, almost convinced me :) Don’t stop trying my brother.
Not being compensated, never had nor do I have intentions for compensation.
The Museum is a non-profit which counts on the support of many people and so I see it as my personal contribution to it and to the people who enjoy it.
In all honestly ABAKUA I truly just want to be able to share the love of this instrument together with its history with as many others as I can.
Im not going to lie, I do miss it and am looking forward to re visiting the Museum in the near future.
Cheers.

I was browsing throught the Musical Instrument Museum site today and happened to see my drum in exhibition.
Check out this link.

I recently renewed the loan agreement one more time because it was chosenIt for a special exhibition which will open in November titled "Beyond The Beat - Drums of the World”.
Cheers.
