Can anybody offer an opinion or experience with the Pearl Primero Pro 12 inch tumba listed here. http://cgi.ebay.com/PEARL-PRIMERO-PRO-1 ... 20adf11285
The price is good. I need something to use with my Patato 10.75 conga. I don't care about the mismatch, I just need a fibreglass tumba that will sound good for rock & R&B and pop. Thanks in advance, Buck

I tapped on one of these just yesterday at Haight Ashbury music, same color as well.
They had a pair on a stand. Seemed like a good drum, but the head
was too thin. Maybe I'll swing by there again and take a closer look this
afternoon.

That's a great price for a drum though.

I have the Pearl Primero Pro wood congas 11 3/4" and 12 1/2" and they are great drums. The quality is exceptional for the price. I can't really vouch for the sound of the fiberglass drums since I've never played them, but I can tell you that Pearl makes great quality drums. Hope this helps a little.

From my post in this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5111&p=51683#p51683

I just played on a set of these at the music store for about 10 minutes.
They were the fiberglass ones with the yellow mottled finish.

I have to say, I did not like them at all. They sounded horrible, the skins were
way too thin, and the hardware was not heavy duty.

They are not the same quality as LP Patatos or Classics. They are worse.
I cannot recommend them.
