Fair Price for a set of LP Valje Congas?

I'm considering buying a set of LP Valje congas. They look to be in good condition, with a few scratches, but nothing too serious. What does a set of quinto, conga, and tumba sell for?

I don't know what they are going for, but you can search alittle find my same question. It depends on when it was made. Got any links?

I have a quinto and conga in rubberwood version.

Here's a picture of the drums. I did a search but I couldn't find any info about used prices. What do you think of your drums?

Thoss look like the Armando Peraza cherry wood model, much nicer wood than the rubberwood used on most thailand production drums.

How much is he asking for them?

Those drums look like they are in good shape, and they are not available very often at all,
especially as a complete set. Too bad about the Remo skins, unless your into that kind of
thing, but the Remo's are probably better suited for more mainstream drums.

I would estimate those drums being worth somewhere between $300-$400 per drum.
If those were my drums, I would probably ask $1,200 as a starting price for the set, and be
pretty firm on it.

But, since you're buying them you might want to start quite a bit lower!

My LP Valje's are nice. They are lighter than the LP Classics, and the tone is quite different. It has more sustain, and perhaps warmer in open tones.

Amazing that those AP - Valje's are so yellow, maybe just the camera or the polycoat.. they do have some lug hash marks, but don't seem to be major.
Too bad about those synthetic skins. If you think the price is right, be sure the seller still has the skin hoop.

Maybe start @275 a piece, if local?

They could be the beech model, they started making the perazas in cherry then switched to beech (at least on the bongos for sure)

I like the rubber bottoms, the trad rims and the overall natural look on the LP Valjes.
The Tumba in my previously-owned set had the biggest open tone I've ever heard on a conga.
The skin was one of the old-skool bleached white LP skins they don't make any longer.
Wish I still had my set.
