Getting stain out of wood

Hey Guy;s Im refinishing my Junior tumba which had a ebony stain on it. Im down to the finale sanding but i still have stain line's in the wood.What should i do keep sanding, or use paint thinner to get that mahogany finish the natural wood finnish. Thank's

I hope that you are well and abundantly blessed this new year!
As for applying any chemical removers to the drum, providing that's what you are thinking about doing to get rid of the stain that's left, be very careful. Do some research on the chemicals contained in the product, they may attack the adhesive/glue used to hold the staves together and give you yet another problem to worry about. I refinished a set of LP Palladiums and didn't have this problem, but I did experience this with a set of Gon Bop tumbadoras I had several years ago.
Hopefully, someone here can advise you on the best sort of chemical to apply to assist you in this part of your project!

Hey Billy, get ahold of the 800 number of Hood Finishing Products in N.J. You can Google it. They can answer your questions. They sell 3 types of bleaches. The strongest is the 2 part. They also have StainAway (I think) that is not as strong and is for removing aniline stain residue. Sanding is not a good way to strip because you are removing stock. Give them a call and if the phone answerer can't tell you what you need to know, ask for the owner, Eric Kasner. He's helped me alot in the past. Good luck, Buckoh
