i know they were really famous in France
price range 700 to 1000 per drum

you can compare them to the california series of gon bops or the giovanni's of LP

I own a pair of michel delaporte conga.Very good sounding drums, with very solid hardware.
I replaced the heads. On the conga there,s a skin from Skin on Skin, and it sounds great.
But I still can,t find a good replacement head for the tumbadora.
I,ve tried a few heads, but all them have a distorted sound when you play loud.
The original head was very thick. So I,m still looking for a good congahead for the tumbadora.

Yes it,s a pot leaf.I,m from Holland which is famous for its pot.
It,s just a sticker I put on the drums. It,s not standard on the delaporte drums

Hi there
Delaporte is a Frencg conga maker. He stopped production a few years ago and his main craftsman bought the company from him.

The production should start again soon according to the new owner I talked to on the phone about two months ago.

The quality of these drums is very very good. I am impressed that this brand made it to the US.... There are still some distributed here in Europe.
