Lp's came out with different handles, so the one that is smooth and looks like aluminum with no ridges or marking came out in what year, it is on a palisades lp fiberglass conga. i am thinking early 70's but would like more specific year. Thanks for eveyones vast knowledge in all things CONGA..

That was the first one, from 1968 to around 1971. Cohen started the company in 1964 and started with bongos, mass produced congas started showing up in early 1968.
