Hi guys,
I've had a LP Palladium 14" super tumba on order for a while. It took ages to get here (from the US I presume), but it finally arrived.
Anyway, I'm happy it's here and all my other Palladiums are happy to welcome their big brother :)
I also had some new heavy duty cases custom made.
ciao

Hi Pavlo

Why is it a different lighter tone? Seems the others are far darker....
I could've gottent you a Super Tumba immediately, let me know next time you need something.

I do hope your bag holds up, the ones I had made simply did not cut it. One broke after the second outing, another began falling apart not long after I received it. (Through Del, they were truly below standard though, with 2 out of my 3 drums not fitting the bags, yours seem somewhat improved)

I got over the novelty of the Palladiums in under a year. Due to the sheer weight of them. Once finishing a 4 set gig, having to do the lug killed me, especially the supertumba. I originally got them as part of an endoresement deal with LP when the drums first came out, no one would buy them, I got them and pushed them etc, toured with them yadda yadda... They did sound great though.

Almost a year later I got tired of their incredible weight and traded them in, complete with faulty bags etc. The supplier & LP gave me my current Dark Wine Classics, Gen III bongo, bell, 3 x Chekere, Protektion Racket cases all round and later the Gio Galaxy 3 golpes. Half the weight of the Palladiums and just as good sound.

Back on topic, congarats on completing the family! 8) 8) 8)

Hi Marcelo,
You're right, it is a lighter tone, I wasn't too happy about it but after waiting so long, it just seemed too much hassle to send it back and get it swapped (if it's even possible). Not sure why the colour has now changed in the series or if it's a mistake on LPs part. I do love the drums and the sound. They are heavy, but I bought myself a trolley and almost never need to lift them now, except putting them on the stands or in the back of the car. They're way too heavy to lug around by hand!

I'll see how these bags go, they seem well made with good protection but the fit could have been better considering he came to my place and measured them by hand on the actual drums. He also did them at 'mate's rates' so not too expensive.

Good that you got those drums on endorsement and good to hear that the classics do the job.
I'll keep your offer in mind if I ever need some new drums! :)

cheers
Pavlo

Thanks cadenza!
That's good to know. Who would've thought - drums that suntan!
I'll put the big fella out the back by the pool in a banana lounge with a cigar and a drink. :D
cheers
P

p.s. you happy with your Giovannis?
