SONOC tumba 4 sale 12.5", made in Cuba in the late 70's, Majagua wood. I put an LP crown for convenience, have original SONOC crown. At one point in time conga had legs attached to shell, wood dowels are in place. Nice size SONOC tumbadora, very melodic. Zoom photo for clear view New Year's special $349. Moforibale!

Probably late 70's. My friend Guille Garcia, who played percussion with the group Chicago, picked it up when he visited his mother about 15 years ago in a rumba session in La Habana Vieja (Old Havana). Payed some US dollars to the rumbero there on the spot and brought it over.

PC,
If you want it, since you have 2 at Matt's, I could have it shipped to him. It will complement the ones you have. Let me know, as I have 2 Gon Bops batas (Itotele & Iya), the Cuban Maolito bongos and the SONOC tumba to list on Ebay. I need to sell some stuff. Private email if interested.

reasonable price I guess. I never vared for Sonocs design, materials or work manship. Its a nationalized operated company. I consider them as tourist models. A better drum by a craftsman / percussionist in Lima Peru is Pasqual Basilio . Using med hardwoods from the Amazon ( cedar and cortason del diablo ) cow hides from the farmers, great hard wares, Alma ring, bands etc, As comparable to Ritmo studios in all sizes !
