This conga:

I've played on them a few years a go and thought it was a hand job by someone (the store I've borought them from has 3 of these) but it looks like it was a real production color.

When were these build and where there matching bongo's made as well?

This were LP Spider finishes tumbadoras in the market around mid 1990's. Originally available in white, blue and red. Notice this are the same LP "Patato" model tumbadoras with a "spider web" art on them.

Below is a clip of Luis Conte using one of each during at PASIC clinic.

Can't recall if a matching bongó set was offered.

Hope this helps,

JG

After years of rental these two, i finally bought the Patato's. Im thinking to buy a second quinto in the same Spider Web finish with these guys have stand in the shop too later this year.

Also im planning to have the djembe (Remo 12'' Leon Mobley Face Mask signature) and bongo's (Leo Percussion from Alberto de Hond) painted in the same finish too.

Ps. the timbales are Puente's but without any logo or something like that so they where 1/3 cheaper but sound the same. Love them!

I have the same djembe and it's UG-A-LY!!! I would love to paint mine too. Do you have a plan as to how you will paint them ie; what paint, prep, etc?
