Hey Forum,

Saw this pic of a vintage Gon Bops from the 70's. Was wondering if this is the real thing? Looks very fine although I can not see the nameplate which I would think would have been in the pic if labeled as a Gon Bops. 9.75" Requnito.

thx, marcus

Nice one. 3000 series, mahogany, always my favorites. Lightweight with a big sound. There was no name "plate". Only a sticker that could fall off or hard to put back on right if taken off for refinishing. Or, maybe it is on the other side.

Listed on Craigslist LA. The guy wants a local transaction only. Great price!!!! Check it out. I would love to have a vintage Quinto or Requinto. But this one is not for me.

Jose,

If you are local I would certainly check out this requinto because the pic is really nice. Another craigslist seller for another conga said that he did not have additional pictures because drum was in storage. Hmmmmmm-makes me wonder a bit. But if the drum is still available and it is the real deal then it would be a real miss not to pick it up. You could resell for a margin if you are so inclined. good luck!

peace, marcus
