Conga Stands

Hello Conga Place,

I wanted to share some information on a set of conga stands that I have been testing/using now for quite some time. I am 100% satisfied with them for a number of reasons. These great little stands hold your drum up off the floor just enough to let the bass come out. The stands will protect any floor you play on. They are super light weight. They fold up very small. I actually carry them in my percussion bag and they do not add any noticeable weight. The stands are only $13.50 each. $12.50 each for two or more. Purchase 4 or more and get a free bag. (While supplies last) USPS shipping would be extra. They can also be fitted with a light for a cool effect. As I said I have used and abused these stands and they really hold up. Super light weight and very affordable. I really like these stands and I believe you will also enjoy them. Simple design and very funcional.

These are some of the most unique and simple stands I have ever seen. Good job

Mike,

Those stands can be used for microphones as well. The isolation of the drums from other amplified instruments would be excellent when the microphones are inside the shell rather than the traditional methods.

Looks great!

Wow, what an excellent idea. It's such a simple, but as you've noted effective, concept. Thanks for sharing.
What do you think about some small cut outs at the base of the drum so that it does not slip?
How does the ligth do with natural skins?

LED lights will not affect the skins as there is no heat generated from them (led lights)

I am curious to know what stops the drum from sliding around on the 'stand', I am a heavy handed conguero, playing alot of solos and agressive timba styles, would be interested in seeing just how solid/sturdy these are.

Me too.
Perhaps the inventor or users could come up with some additional rubber application that you could attach
to the cross-piped stand to avoid the slipping?

Yoga mats. Cut 1 inch lengths and wrap. These mats come in a variety of colors and are very inexpensive. Or duct or electrical tape. Might need to replace on occasion. I am sure a visit to the local hardware store will prove some other ideas.

Hi Everyone,

The drums do not slip around on these great little stands because of the rubber they are made of. Some times depending on the music, I am also a heavy hitter and they still work great. I thought I could also make them but for what Larry Beck is selling them for I figured my time to make them was worth more than the price he is charging. Larry is a great guy and he will appreciate all the comments for improvements. His design is simple and they work. I really like these little stands and I won't be luging my other stands anymore. I am getting older and my back is not what it was years ago. I am totally pleased with the stands. I have 4 of them and they came with a nice draw string bag. I am glad I could share this info with all the good people here at Congaplace. Enjoy!

Thanks
Mike

Very sweet Gallichio. A much slicker, cooler execution of my crude (though usable) Congaplayts.
