Adding a Quinto?

I haven't posted for awhile here, but still check in from time to time to read up and learn. :D

So, I am thinking of adding a New Gon Bops Mariano Series Quinto to my already existing Gon Bops Tumbao Pro Conga and Tumba Set.

I know the hardware is different, etc. But I am wondering if it's an acceptable practice to mix drum models in a set? Or, will the tone, volume, etc. sound too "off" together?

I can get the Quinto at a good price, and may do so anyhow just to have the drum for something different to play.

Nothing wrong with mixing and matching at all.

Thanks again BnB for replying. :D

Amazon has the series at a STEAL. There is also an additional 10% right now too with FREE Shipping. I just had to get me an early XMas Gift. :)

If anyone else has thought about this set, I would get them now at their price. Cheaper than used.

Mixing is part all part of the tradition in conga drumming :D I didnt see any cubans playing matched sets of drums when i was there , all totally bashed up and different heights , different makes and different heads etc . Sounded amazing though .

I have too many quintos, I love them all but too many.
I have a nice LP Matador Quinto (dark wood) for sale.
I'm in Kansas City, for local pickup only - no shipping.
It's in excellent condition - asking $125.

I also have excellent new requintos for sale.

1) Bauer Classic Quinto (10") $250
Includes the original comfort rim and traditional rim

2) Isla Percussion Requinto (Canoe Wood) $250

I wish they offered the tumba in the same color as the conga.

Actually, I think the pic may be generic? You may want to call and inquire as I have only seen these in one color on-line? Maybe they look darker/lighter in different lighting?
