Hey guys,
I'm reading different opinions about the weight of fiberglass and wood congas.
Some folks say that fiberglass are lighter (this is my experience too) while others say there's no real difference.

Did you ever weight your congas?

My Pearl Elite are:
Conga: 12.6Kg
Tumba: 13Kg

Thanks!

I think it depends on the kind of congas.

I have some old model (early 80s maybe even 70's) LP fibreglass congas (my first ever congas which I still own) and they are very light. However I've also come across fibreglass LP Galaxys which I think are quite heavy.

I also own LP Palladiums - wooden - and they are very heavy, the heaviest of all my drums!

Sorry I don't have individual weights.

The lightest drums I have ever owned were the 28" LP fiberglass "Salsa" model I think they are called. Very convenient to schlepp to classes, the weight and the durability. Got that drum for $72 a few years back!
