Thanks everybody for really valuable input. As far as I can say, the drum wasn't cracked when it arrived, or at least I didn't notice anything, and I think I checked the drum pretty thoroughly. I wrote Mario about that and he promised he'll send replacement, I'm curious, if he'll really do that.

Anyway, I suppose even in the case he sends it, it will take a long time, so I'm definitely going to try to fix this and will hope I won't break anything. I can buy both rachet straps and rope here, easier seems rachet strap, but I somehow like the rope idea.
I can even get the Titebond glue too: http://drevorezba.cz/kategorie.aspx?kategorie=4372 . On the site they recommend the brown one for fixing musical instruments.

The brown Titebond is for musical instruments (also for repair) but not as strong as other Titebonds.

I have always used Titebond III for conga repairs,
and always with best and strongest results.
