Hi, I got Isla bata, which after two years still have the rims on chacha too high and really kill our hands. Is there any way, except changing head, to bring the rims down?
Thanks
Vasik

mario would probably advise you to pull the head, fill the inside with water and let it sit for a few hours. Just enough to begin saturating the head without it totally loosing it's form. Mark the head and the crown to ensure you line it up properly when you put it back on - not all the lugs are evenly spaced on isla drums. Also, don't put too much water in it as you want the part surrounding the flesh hoop dry!
Then, put it back on and slowly crank it down to where you want it. This technique is definitely going to stress the head and it will turn white around the bearing edge, but you should be able to get it further down than it is. Better a stressed head than battered hands! If that doesn't work - it's a new skin for sure.
