New to the board and glad I stumbled across it.

I just bought these two weeks ago to upgrade from my LP Aspires (finally); Black/White Speckled LP Classic Quinto/Conga.

I haven't seen this color for the classics ANYWHERE online and its not a current option to purchase.

Only reason I know they're classics is because under one of the handles is the "classic model" badge right above the LP tradition of quality sticker.

Ive posted photos below, anyone know ballpark how hold these are? On the inside of each drum is a notation (hand written), one says 11-4-88, the other says 21-4-88. I remember my aspires also had notations on the inside. Does it mean they were made in April of 1988? If so, what is the consensus on older congas out there?

You probably got some 1988's. My LPs from the mid-1990s, got 95 on them.

Thanks.

I know they're old, they have original comfort curve rims (as opposed to comfort curve II rims)

Does anyone know if this will impact which pre-mounted heads fit (will pre mounted heads that fit comfort curve II fit original comfort curve rims?)

I just ordered 2 remo tucked fiberskyn heads. If they don't work out Ill mount my own.

They are from the late 80's and very nice indeed. I had a conga and a tumba but ordered them with traditional crowns. Very nice congas that you don't see that much anymore. Enjoy them.
