Starting My New Patato Collection.....

It's been a little over 3months since I sold my set of 4 Patato congas, and to a great home back in Nueva Yol...........but I've been going through withdrawls ever since. Okay, so I found the need, and the means to start my collection once again starting with this practically "brand new" conga, which I purchased for $350! It arrived yesterday wrapped up like a douche, you know a roamer in the night.......no, wait.....what? Sorry, back to my post now! It was in a box with so much 'popcorn' and styrofoam, the drum was inside a 'gator' bag, which was totally 'shrink' wrapped! I could have dropped this box from a 2 story building and nothing would have happened to it, okay, okay, maybe not a 2 story building, but more like pushed it over on it's side and nothing would have happened to it. Great packaging job!

I'm gonna get a tumbadora this coming Monday for $420, and then, and then, well we'll see where it goes from there. I'm as excited as a teenage girl on prom night!

What's up Jaisen!
I found this deal on ebay last Thurs. and jumped on it before someone else did. The guy was in Colorado, so it didn't take long to arrive here.

Alafia Abures!
I hope that you are well and abundantly blessed!

Brother Thebreeze, I certainly appreciate the offer of your quinto for purchase, however I don't normally use one in my playing. My set up usually consists of one- 11.75, two- 12.50" drums where LP models are concerned, not much 'rumba' drumming out here in the desert.

Brother King Conga, I hope that all is well mi hermano! I am trying to decide whether to put cow, or mule on them.....aww hell, I may just leave the buffalo on them, not too sure at this point. I removed the handles and the funky tension rod it came with (it has a mic attachment welded on). I had purchased some for my Palladiums when they 1st came out with them, but my 1st night giggin out with them, BAM! the weld broke while putting them in the car :(
Not gonna take a chance like that again.

I just ordered my tumbadora and it's shipping from S/D, I assume that it should get here within a couple of business days :D :D :D

This time, I've ordered all black Patatos, I've decided that they will be my "ninja" set!

Stay well!

I'm now torn between just keeping it down to a set of 2 Patatos, and playing them standing up, or expanding to 3, but I know me and I'll continue to 4..................decisions, decisions!

I ordered some synthetic heads for them, they just arrived today, and damn! Don't like the way they fit, well at least one of them fit. I was able to mount the conga head, but the crown is like 3" down from the playing surface. Definitely not what I'm used to. The tumbadora head didn't even fit, the crown wouldn't allow the tension rods to go through the holes in the crown. I'm trying not to have to mount mules or cow heads on them, but I may be left with no choice.

BTW! The heads I got were the following:

Remo Fiberskyn Crimplock Symmetry 11.75 Conga Drumhead
Item# M4-1175-F6-D2
Remo Fiberskyn Crimplock Symmetry 12.5 Conga Drumhead
Item# M4-1250-F6-D2

I've never put any synthetic heads on my drums, other than the PTCs (Pearl Travel Congas).....

Any ideas as to which model number would work bestest, or betteror on the Patato Model Conga & Tumbadora?

I feel like such a spazz!
