Just recieved a shipment of skins from Jaisen today via Fedex. All total I have 6 for Congas and two for Bongos. I am very pleased with the skins and allthough I won't use them all right away, ( just a few for now ). I want to save a few for a rainy day! So someone asks..." why is Will looking like a kid with new toys?" Answer..." It's because he has some new cowhides" haha. The things that make our day. Just have to share with you guys.j

New Manito Steer Skin Heads on my LP Classic Wood Congas

Postby Mr.Rumba » Mon Jul 08, 2013 10:48 pm

Here is a short informal video of me playing 2 of my old LP Classic "Siam Oak" (i.e. "rubber wood") congas with 2 new Manito Percussion steer heads on them.
I went with Steer instead of mule because the steer is slightly less hard, especially on your hands and also the sound to my ears is more tonal then the Mule. I am not using these in a band so i went for more tonal. Having said that, the Manito Natural Brown Steer heads are definately more crisp then the normal cow skin. It's like an in between cow and mule skin. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCSeso_TXXA
