Yesterday I mailed a friend telling him I am not buying more conga's But now I found somebody who is selling the gon bops showed on the (small ) picture. They are conga and tumba
What model are they ? What period where they produced ? What kind of wood ?
I dont see many gon bops in my country so this might something that gets me buying again.
These are early 1980s (or maybe late 1970s) International Series Gon Bops, made out of Luan aka Philippine mahogany. Nice rumba drums with an old-skool sound. Conga & tumba combination is hard to come by in Europe. The skins looks pretty worn though. All in all, these are really outstanding congas from a bygone era. But be sure to check them out for cracks.
