PC, you have mahogany percs (Mopercs) what series? What treatment are they in the shop for?
I would post pics in this thread of my Mopercs but they are not of mahogany wood. They sound powerful and will be joined with a couple more, ooo yeah.

Hey there! All of the original mopercs were made of mahogany. I have two juniors that matt smith is refurbishing for me. They were old. The mopercs sound absolutely incredible!!

Whereas Gon Bops have never been "real" mahogany (but Luan aka Philippine mahogany)
this is a genuine African mahogany conga:

Alas, not mine any longer though...

Yes, Reiche Congas do look and sound beautiful :-)

I have to admit that the bellies of Ridolfi´s mahogany congas are a bit too wide to my liking.
But that is just personal preference.
As an aside, I wonder why the lugs in that ebay offer have been disassembled?

I have a few Mahogany Drums. Here's my one and only Jr. Tirado Tumba. Looking for a matching Conga.

A few more Mahogany Congas. The 1st two are 10" & 10.75" Teo-Dor from Manila, very solid with good tone. If & when I find two more, I'll break them down an put together a tumba. The Quinto/Conga Gon Bop pair was owned by physicist/mathematician who rarely played them, save for a few scratches, they are in mint condition. I've got a tumba that needs refinishing and when its done I'll add it to the pair and put the set up for sale. If anyone is interested, please let me know.
