Hey there,

I see no replies, so I'll chime in even though I am not that knowledgeable and could very well be wrong, but I would guess Mexican.

If you do a search on the site for Mexican Congas you might even find one close to it in a picture if I'm right ... there has been a few over the years.

Cheers

These drums are MOST likely Mexican made which doesn't mean they're not good drums. Chances are they're not Cuban made, although that "L" shape side plate is seen on some Cuban made Congas & Batas for tourists. If the wood is Caoba or similar Mahogany or even Cedar, then they're worth restoring. Keep in mind Hardware for a Conga isn't cheap. I'd buy them. But I wouldn't pay more than $150 for both.

I have one [a quinto], after I put a decent skin on it its sounds great. I think in some cases they may be underrated ... but yup the price point macho123 suggested is correct I think.

Here is mine:

100% Mexican, Playa Azul. Bands are missing though.
Nice looking, buy them.

The one on the left is a Mexican drum, I bought one new in 1970. I sawed off the bottom 8 inches to match the height of LP's. They were quite tall if I recall, played it for many years
