As long as we have a rare Gon Bops show-and-tell going, here is my 2 piece quinto. I believe it is a one-of-a-kind, special-order, made for a guy who needed a conga he could pack in the boot of his MG.

You may not like the sound, but I find the idea is interesting. Anyway, the sound on videos, especially on Youtube, depends on the recording materiel. The whole set is rather expensive (1850,00 €, 2106 $ at today's rate), so you'd better try them "in real life" before ordering...

I've played it, a little, I'm not much of a quinto player. I do have an old, 60's GB conga/tumba set that I do play. This one - sounds good like a quinto should. It has a good tight seal between the parts. "One of these days" I'll refinish it.

Those Alik drums do look very interesting.
