do the caps you got look exactly like the ones on your drum? What is the official name or description of this item, in case I wanted to look for them on the internet? Or does your local hardware store accept international online orders, by chance?
Thomas I don't know if they're exactly the same. I haven't picked them up yet. If you type in Protective Endcaps 1/4 inch on Amazon for instance you will see them. They look pretty close to the ones I'm looking for.
Hi guys, just curious: what purpose do those caps serve on congas? I do find them very useful for bongos to avoid scratching surfaces, bag, etc., but I don't see the point of having them on congas... Is it just aesthetics?

Comfort while playing. Also the ends of the lugs can scratch other drums if in contact.
@ Thomas : you can find some in every DIY shop. Since we use metric system here, you should be able to use M8 (8 mm) caps for 5/16" lugs, and M10 (10 mm) for 3/8" lugs. Give it a go.
Thank you Chtimulato! I may give it a try, although it's probably easier to order online, because there I can see before whether these caps are available. Also, I don't really know when which shop will be allowed to open again, and I'm slowly becoming tired of keeping track of the German Corona policy.
My congas come in contact with each other rather with the sideplates than the lugs, so I think the caps wouldn't help here. The lugs don't seem to bother me (nor my clothes) while playing either. Maybe that's a sign that I should oil them more often...
