I just picked up Jose Mangual, Jr.'s cd, Tribute To Chano Pozo, vol. II and it is sssssssmokin! The first volume was released back in 1977 and is also great. IMO every track on this cd is awesome, my fav's being Campana Titiko and Chano Pozo. But like I stated, every track cooks!
Mangual, Jr. gathered some of the best Latin musicians for this recording as he's done in the past. Milton Cardona, Charlie Sepulveda, Ray Colon, and others. Plus the great Papo Pepin rompiendo cuero on congas!
Supposedly there's a 3rd volume to this Chano Pozo tribute by Mangual, Jr. that was never released. This is highly recommended!
