I've been offered a short-term contract in Bangkok, Thailand, and might move there for six months.

Now most mass-market congas are manufactured there these days right?

Does that mean there is a good network of players and teachers? If so can anyone give me some names. Being both an active player and always a keen student I would be looking for both.

Hi Thailand beleive it or not have their own brand of congas. I know because my brother has an old set of black and red stripe congas with the head needle and threaded on around the inside hoop.. Pearl drums has there factory their also. I don't know any teachers their . If you can find the Pearl Drum factory I'm sure someone could hook you up...And watch out for the Ladies!!!....oooooweeeee......If you need an extra pair of hands I'm available.....have a safe and great trip!.....JC JOHNNY CONGA....
