If anyone wants to learn about "speaking" with Afro-Cuban flavor in the Berkeley Area, email me at: qualitydag@earthlink.net

The chopshop is now open

please go to the onlinelessons page and make sure that you can see the example cajon and timbalito movies and diagrams. Some browsers work better than others.

Also, for anyone who is interestd, my second book through Mel Bay Publications should be coming out this September. This second volume will really help folks understand about how to both feel and articulate on a quinto or any drum for that matter, in a more funkier way.

The two books aren't mean to take the place of a teacher, just give you an idea of how to use syncopation and get you used to hearing and playing some really funky licks. This will make it more possible to understand what you are listening to when you are at an open rumba. If you can understand what you're hearing, you can learn from anyone.
