Bought a pair of calientes and looking for anybody that can give me lessons or can direct me to a percussion school in the NYC Metro area.

Vaya Solopamigente, saludos! I recommend that you check out the Boys Harbor Performing Center. There you will find first class percussion instruction from people like; Louie Bauzó, José Madera, Johnny Almendra, George Delgado, Jimmy Delgado, and Víctor Rendón, among others. Hope this helps!

Have you heard about "the collective"?
It is located at 541 Avenue of the Americas.
You can find Memo Acevedo and other greats there.
