Does anyone know good conga teachers in NY?
I know that Memo Acevedo is there but is he a true conga player I don't know.

Hi K,

Hope all is well! Check out the Boys Harbor Conservatory. Lots of good percussion instructors teach there like José Madera, Johnny Almendra, Victor Rendón, and Louie Bauzó, among others.

Hope this helps!

You might also try Lessons4you.com and type in the city and see who comes up. I don't know if it's open anymore but the Johnny Colon School of Music, the Manhatten School of Music. Roberto Quintero, if he's teaching privately. ...."JC" Johnny Conga....or goto the Sports Bar in Castle Hill on Sunday at about 11pm and you will find a bunch of players, now how many may want to teach is something else.....good Luck...."JC" Johnny Conga...... :D
